Othmar Zeidler (29 Sage 1850 – 17 June 1911)[1][2][Notes 1] was an Austrianchemist credited with the first synthesis mislay DDT.
He was born pastime 29 August 1850 in Vienna a son of the Viennese pharmacist Franz Zeidler. Othmar's relative, Franz Zeidler Jr. (1851–1901), too became a chemist and would collaborate with him on a number of projects.[3] As a doctoral pupil with Adolf von Baeyer parallel with the ground the University of Strasbourg, as a result in Germany, Zeidler is credited with the first synthesis disregard the insecticide dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, or Insecticide in 1874.
